Drug Safety Updates are intended for all healthcare professionals who work in the UK – doctors, pharmacists, nurses, dentists, allied healthcare professionals and coroners. They replaced Current Problems in Pharmacovigilance in July 2007. Access current and previous publications and search for details on individual drugs and reactions via: Drug Safety Update

‘Dear Healthcare Professional’ Letters

‘Dear Healthcare Professional’ Letters are circulations designed to communicate important new information about a marketed product to the healthcare professionals who will be involved in its use. They are generally produced by the pharmaceutical industry to supply details of important safety warnings and messages for medicines including letters sent to help professionals in the event of major/urgent drug safety issues.

You can find a list of recent and archived ‘Dear Healthcare Professional’ Letters here.

Interactive Drug Analysis Profiles (iDAPs)

iDAPs contain complete listings of all suspected adverse drug reactions or side effects, which have been reported by healthcare professionals and patients to the MHRA, via the Yellow Card Scheme.

Each iDAP lists all of the reactions reported by health professionals and patients for a particular medicine. Medicines are listed alphabetically by the name of the active ingredient, not the brand name.

The interactivity of the profiles allows users to manipulate the data to better understand the types of reactions reported, and who they were reported by.
