Simon Maxwell BSc, MD, PhD, FRCP, FRCP(E)
Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacology, University of Edinburgh, and Consultant Physician at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. He is currently Vice-President (Clinical) of the British Pharmacological Society and Chairman of Lothian University Hospitals Drug & Therapeutics Committee.
His research interests are related to the pathophysiology and treatment of cardiovascular disease. |

Nick Bateman BSc, MD, FRCP, FRCP(E), FBPharmacolS, FBTS
Director of National Poisons Information Service, Edinburgh centre (Scottish Poisons Information Bureau), Professor in Clinical Toxicology, University of Edinburgh, and Consultant Physician within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Formerly he was Medical Director of the Regional Drug and Therapeutics Centre in Newcastle upon Tyne where he was Director of the regional reporting centre CSM Northern. He has research interests in Clinical Toxicology and Pharmacoepidemiology. He is the President-elect of the European Association of Poison Centres & Clinical Toxicologists and Chairman of its Scientific and Meetings Committee. |

Melinda Cuthbert BSc(Pharm), MRPharmS
A native of Canada, Melinda registered in 1994 with a BSc Pharm (awarded from Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada). After spending 4 years working as a pharmacist in community/hospital/government posts she moved to the UK in 1998; and worked as a clinical pharmacists in Forth Valley for 2 years before spending a year working as a clinical pharmacist in Australia. Upon return she worked at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre until commencing the senior pharmacist post for Yellow Card Centre Scotland/Medicines Information in July 2002. Nine years on she now leads the Lothian MI Service and continues to provide education & training on adverse drug reactions; and to promote the Yellow Card Scheme across Scotland.
She has completed a Masters of Philosophy (part-time) at the University of Strathclyde, which was awarded in July 2010. Topic: Improving standards of pharmacovigilance practice in oncology. |

Sheila Noble

Sheila Noble BSc, MSc, MRPharmS
A graduate of Strathclyde University, Sheila held a number of
positions in both the hospital and community sector before joining
Lothian Health in 1990 as a Community Services Pharmacist developing
the hospital/community interface. Having completed an MSc in
clinical pharmacy and taken some time out to bring up two children,
Sheila has been working as a clinical pharmacist at Roodlands
Hospital for some years and providing considerable teaching
input to Queen Margaret University. In May 2006 Sheila
joined Melinda to job-share as Senior Pharmacist Medicines Information/YCC
Scotland at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Sinéad McGhee MA, MSc ILS
An information professional with previous experience in a variety of settings Sinéad joined YCC Scotland in June 2009 as an Information Officer. After graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 2007 with an MSc in Information and Library Studies Sinéad worked as an Information Officer at a charity library. Sinéad is a personal member of the Scottish Health Information Network and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. |
