The MHRA is particularly keen to receive reports of reactions that are regarded as serious. Serious reactions are defined as:
- Fatal
- Life threatening
- Disabling or incapacitating
- Resulting in, or prolonging, hospitalisation
- Congenital abnormalities
- Those which are deemed by the reporter as medically significant
